Ethereum synchronization problem: a slow trip with Bitcoin-QT
As an enthusiastic of cryptocurrencies, I am not oblivious to the frustrations that leads to maintain a high -performance Ethereum node. However, my recent experience has left me frustrated and worried about the synchronization speed of my node.
After 14 weeks of waiting for my node to synchronize, I have reached a disturbing synchronization rate of 0.01% per hour. This may not seem much, but the cumulative effect is devastating. In fact, he estimates that he will take at least 12 weeks for my node to synchronize completely, which means that I will continue behind in almost two months.
The slow time synchronization rate only adds insult to the lesion. For perspective, the average synchronization rate for a Bitcoin-QT node is about 0.1% per hour. My situation is an extreme example of how fast a slow node can even derail the most optimistic deadlines.
So what is behind this slow rhythm? There are several reasons that can contribute to the poor synchronization speed of my node:
* Network congestion
: The Ethereum Network is known for its high levels of congestion, especially during high activity periods. This can lead to delays in data transmission and a slow synchronization process.
* Node configuration problems
: The configuration of my node could be making it synchronize at an inconsistent speed. Factors such as the use of different wallet software or incorrect configurations could be contributing to this problem.
* Network instability : The Ethereum Network is prone to interruptions, forks and other interruptions that can interrupt synchronization efforts.
To address my slow synchronization, I will need to reassess the configuration of my node and take measures to optimize your performance. This may involve adjusting the wallet software configuration, updating the node firmware or even considering a hardware update.
